Bikes for Auction from COTA

Thanks to The Cranky Commuter for this heads-up! If you're looking for a used bike, or bike parts, or just something to knock around on, then this might be for you.

Ever consider those grocery store deals that offer 10 for $10 or 2 for $4 or some other multiple that forces you to do math in your head?

Not today, my friend. I'm here to tell you that 3 for $5 is an excellent deal. It's what COTA is asking for a whole bunch of bikes that got left on buses more than 3 months ago.

We're talking 21 bikes here, broken into groups of 3. You can look at the pictures if you don't want to bite sight unseen. But then, why not go to the auction site and then it would be site seen?

Sorry, that pun was pretty bad. If you're a bit more conventional, you can see them by contacting Jeff Salyers, Purchasing Agent, at salyersja@cota.com or (614) 275-5890 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The auction started Thursday but by 3:15 p.m. Friday, only one bid had been entered. These are bargains, people, really. The auction can be accessed at:
http://www.publicsurplus.com/sms/cota,oh/list/current?orgid=12617

The auction closes at 5 p.m. March 16.

Winning bidders must pay for their booty with cash, cashier’s check or money order at the time of pick-up, which ends at 4 p.m. March 23. Items not picked up will remain the property of COTA.

People, not speed.
